According to the clinical development process, there are seven types of abortion:
1. Threatened abortion
Clinical symptoms of miscarriage occurred, but pregnancy products still remained in Uterine, which commonly happened in the early pregnancy. The symptoms include that vaginal bleeds a litter with bright red, but if the product in the vagina longer, with brown and guttate for a few days or weeks. Abdominal pain is optional, to a lesser extent; the fetus may continue with tocolysis.
Gynecological examination: cervix closed, the amniotic sac has not broken, the size of the uterus consistent with the time of pregnancy.
2. Inevitable abortion
Inevitable abortion, which is a continuation of threatened abortion, refers to pregnancy cannot be sustained. Vaginal bleeds more and longer time, even blood clots, and lower abdominal pain intermittently, or amniotic fluid outflow.
Gynecological examination: cervix opened largely, amniotic sac prominent or has broken, and embryonic tissue obstruct in the cervical canal, or even found out of the cervix.
3. Incomplete abortion
The fetus and part of placenta discharge, and part or the entire placenta is still retained in the uterine cavity, which is called the incomplete abortion. Abortion occurred before 8 weeks of pregnancy, fetus and placenta can simultaneously emit; 8 to 12 weeks of pregnancy, the structure of placenta has been formed and closely connected to the deciduas, so the product is not easy to discharge completely, often incomplete abortion occurred. Because of residual embryonic tissue within the uterine cavity, uterine cannot contract well, resulting more vaginal bleeding with long time and intrauterine infection.
Gynecological examination: cervix has expanded; there have been bloody material spills, and sometimes the embryonic tissue blockage in the cervix. The uterus is less than the number of normal pregnancy days.
4. Complete abortion
After threatened abortion and inevitable abortion, fetal and placental tissue completely discharged at a short time with vaginal bleeding and abdominal pain stopping. It often occurred before 8 weeks of gestation.
Gynecological examination: the cervix is closed and the uterus is nearly normal size.
5. Missed abortion
Missed abortion refers to fetal dead more than 2 months but discharged naturally. The exact cause of abortion is not clear, may be related to the levels of estrogen and progesterone and the sensitivity of uterine. In addition, excessive tocolysis to threatened abortion may be another reason. Sometimes, the progesterone is still used, but the fetal is actually dead, inhibiting uterine contraction and resulting in embryonic missed.
6. Habitual abortion
Consecutive 3 times or more than 3 times is called habitual abortion, while others named consecutive 2 times or more than 2 times as recurrent spontaneous abortion. The incidence of habitual abortion is 1% of pregnancies, accounting for 15% of the number of spontaneous abortion.
7. Infected abortion
Infected abortion is abortion combining with the infections of reproductive system. Various types of abortion may be complicated by infection, including selective or therapeutic abortion especially incomplete abortion, missed abortion and illegal abortion.
thanks alot!
